Favorite WOD: Grace
Least favorite exercise/WOD: anything with overhead squats and/or burpees (Mike hates burpees!)

Olde Mike (‘cause he is!) has been a classroom teacher, high school boys’ and girls’ soccer coach and boys’ and girls’ club soccer coach, as well as a senior soccer referee for the state of Kansas since his retirement after a career in the military.

Mike got interested in fitness training as a high school coach; he was charged with designing the fitness training for the boys and girls during preseason conditioning as well as strength and conditioning during the season.

A long time soccer referee at the high school through college level, Mike got interested in CrossFit while looking for a program to better maintain his fitness between and during soccer seasons. CrossFit quickly became his fitness “sport” when he stepped back from refereeing: he now devotes his time to being a better crossfitter.

Mike trains the 0900 “Divas’” class at Harney Gym on Wednesdays, and the evening sessions at the Leavenworth Community Center at 5:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can also find him working out on most Saturdays after CrossFit Kids at the Leavenworth Community Center.

Meg

Meghan (Meg) has been involved in all aspects of fitness and exercise for most of her life. A competitive swimmer from age 5 through college, she began working as a coach and trainer in high school. While in college at the United States Naval Academy, and during her active duty time, Meg earned numerous training certifications in swimming, aerobics, lifting, cycling/spin and more. Turned on to CrossFit in 2009, she quickly found that it was exactly what she was looking for as an athlete and as a trainer.

Level One certified, Meg finds her greatest satisfaction in challenging and encouraging people to excel in their efforts and to exceed their own expectations. Known as a great motivator and a stickler for technique, Meg loves to build the confidence and camaraderie in the gym.
